Willie Blackshire

Willie Joe Blackshire (Popeye) was born on 2/1/1952 to the union of MC and Susie Blackshire in Ennis, Texas.

Willie Blackshire received his formal education at Ennis High School in Ennis, Texas.

Willie Blackshire accepted Christ at an early age and was united with Bright & Morning Star Baptist Church.

Willie Blackshire was united in holy matrimony with Carol Blackshire on 9/9/75 in Corsicana, Texas.  Their union was blessed with five children.

In his leisure, enjoyed singing and dancing.

Willie Blackshire departed this life on October 3, 2020.  He was preceded in death by parents, MC Sr. and Susie Blackshire; brothers, Charlie Lee Blackshire, Roy Blackshire, Raymond Blackshire, Sherman Blackshire and James Earl Blackshire Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory: 2 daughters, Cassandrea Blackshire, Devyn Blackshire;  3 sons; Cedric Blackshire, Derric Blackshire, Daron Blackshire;  9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; brother, MC Blackshire Jr. (Gwen); sisters, Ida Mae Glenn (Willie Sr.); sister, Lillie Mae Carter (Charles), Tandra Piper (Frank); Lillie Mae Armstrong(Cleveland); a host of niece, nephews, and friends.
