On Thursday, February 4, 2021, at approximately 9:00 a.m., God, our heavenly father, called His angels to escort Walter Earl Perkins from his earthly home. The Almighty knew he had lived his life as a respectful child, supporting brother, loving husband, caring uncle, and a friend to all. God knew it was time for him to find peace and rest in a place where there is no illness, pain, or suffering. We love Walter so much and he will be missed more than words could ever say. Yes, it broke our hearts and caused so many tear drops to fall, but we know Walter’s purpose on this earth was completed and God’s will was done.
Walter Earl Perkins was born January 17, 1958 in Palmer, Texas to Betty Jean Perkins and Walter Brown.
He attended grade school at Callahan Elementary School in Palmer, Texas. Walter later relocated to Dallas, Texas where he received his secondary education from Pearl C. Anderson Middle School; and his diploma from Job Corps in McKinney, Texas.
Walter was a man of faith and in his early years frequently attended the Potter’s House in Dallas, Texas.
Walter met the love of his life, Ms. Fleta Nash, in 1989 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas where they both were employed. On January 5, 1990, Walter and Fleta became as one.
Walter formerly worked at the City of Dallas, Baylor Hospital, and U-Haul Moving and Storage Company before his health began to decline.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed being with his family, playing card games, dominos, movies, sports, discussing current events, and critiquing everyone’s cooking. He also told great stories and loved to share a good laugh.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Betty Jean Perkins-Jackson, bonus father, Mitchell Jackson, bonus mother, Laura Brown, Grandparents: James Perkins & Maple Garrett-Perkins, Jiles Brown & M.E. Brown; and Niece who was like a daughter, Anjelica De’Ann Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: Father, Walter Brown; a very loyal and devoted wife of 31 years, Mrs. Fleta Perkins; daughter, Regina Taylor of Omaha, Nebraska; Siblings: Patricia Jones of Lancaster, Texas, Lorie Brown of Dallas, Texas, Debra Jackson-Brown (Emory) of Dallas, Texas, Cynthia Morrison of Dallas, Texas, Anita Dials of Ennis, Texas, Kenneth Brown of Dallas, Texas, and Rex Jackson (Virginia) of Greenville, Texas. Others include: his aunt who was like a second mother to him, Emma Katherine Perkins-Nicholson, grandson, Kristopher Taylor, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved him dearly.
A special thanks to all the people who shared in caring for Walter in his time of need ~ The Health and Wellness Center Staff, Baylor Hospital Staff, Marcell & Jeanette Williams, and Uncle John Steve Perkins.
