Mother Vera Randall was born on February 8, 1936, she was the third child born of
seven to the late Authur and Ira Bell Cook in Walnut Springs, Texas.
Mother Randall received a formal education from Dunbar School of Ferris, Texas.
Mother Randall accepted Christ at a young age and became a member of Macedonia
Missionary Baptist Church. She later united with the Mount Horeb Baptist Church and
she was a faithful member who served in the choir, Sunday school teacher, secretary,
mission board and loved cooking for her pastors.
On January 11, 1953, she married the love of her life Mr. Willie Randall and to this
blessed union three daughters were born, Beverly, Rhonda, and Renita.
She was employed by ATCO for many years, and later she retired from Ferris ISD.
Her hobbies included cooking, solving crossword puzzles, reading, and fellowshipping
with her friends at the Desoto Senior Citizen Center. Her and husband enjoyed hosting
for family and friends gatherings. She loved fellowshipping with her church family and
most of all Praising her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She was surrounded by her loving family when Mother Randall received her call from
the Master at 12:34 in the afternoon on July 20, 2024.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, Kmankry
Cook, Robert Cook, Warren Cook, one sister Claudia Sullemon, and close friend Eula
V. Adams.
Her memories will forever be embedded in the hearts of her family and those who loved
her: Her daughters, Beverly (Leon) Stephens of Desoto, TX, Rhonda (Bruce) Brookins
of Forney, TX, Renita Cox of Lancaster, TX. Grandchildren, Shawna Randall of
Waxahachie, TX, Eric (Empress) Jackson of Rowlett, TX, Sheyl Smith or Arlington TX,
Erica Jackson of Forney, TX, Remica (Overseer Roosevelt) Johnson of Red Oak, TX,
Calvin (Briana) Smith Jr of Wilmer, TX, Michael (Princess) Cox Jr of Lancaster, TX,
Patrick Cox of Carrolton, TX. Two sisters Estella Lyons Los Angeles California and
Debbie Ezenwa of Tulsa Oklahoma. Thirty – two great grandchildren and twenty- one
great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and special
friends of the Desoto Senior Citizen Center.
