Valerie Fabunmi Obituary

BELOVED DAUGHTER, SISTER, & FRIEND

Valerie Ann Bell-Fabunmi (who we endearingly called Ann) was born in Montgomery, Alabama in 1960. She  grew up and went to school in Newark, NJ. She graduated from Weequahic High School in 1978. She then attended Katherine Gibbs business school. She worked several years in New York City at various clothing retail chains. Valerie later relocated and lived in various states including Virginia, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Georgia, and finally Texas.

She is survived by her husband, Akintunde Ebenezer Fanbunmi of seven years. Her mother Cornelia Bell of Jackson, New Jersey,  three siblings; Kenneth Bell and wife Vanessa of Victory, Texas. Gregory Bell and his wife Tamikia of Tyler Texas, Sonja Williams of Jackson, New Jersey, a cousin Morris Bell (South Carolina) and a very dear childhood friend of over 45 years Ms. Kitty Ward of Newark, N.J. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews including Nicholas, Kniecole, Jahmier, Kenneth Jr.,Jamel, Malachi, Destiny, Judah, Jordan and Rhema. She also has great nieces and nephews: Jahmier Jr.,Tyjier, Kaizeyah, Amar, Aaliyah, Gregory “M.J.” and Bella.

She was an avid dog lover. Her pet Rottweilers Wally and Oscar were her constant traveling companions. Valerie was an eccentric soul who loved to shop and travel. She never really met a stranger. Her untimely death leaves us with a void,  which can only be filled with the many memories God has graced us to have and cherish. Rest in Peace Ann.
