Roy Lee Williams, known as Blackie to his family, was born on September 4, 1953, to the parentage of Charlie and Delta Williams, both of whom proceeded Roy in death. Roy transitioned from his earthly home to be with his heavenly Father on November 10, 2024. Roy attended school in the Corsicana Independent School District and graduated in the class of 1972. After graduation, Roy attended North Texas State University. Upon returning home, Roy worked for the City of Corsicana for a short period before going to work for Corsicana Independent School District, where he worked for twenty-six (26) years.
Roy was the tenth (10th) of twelve (12) children born to Charlie and Delta Williams. Charlene, Charlie B., Lorenzo, Matthew, I.W., Richard, Jenett, and Regina all proceeded Roy in death.
Roy loved to barbecue and even made his own barbeque sauce with a family recipe given to him by his dad. Roy also loved to sing. And with a few of his siblings, they began to sing as the Williams Family, later known as “God’s Completion”. Roy was a member of Roane Chapel Full Gospel Church all his life. He was a faithful and dedicated deacon until his health began to decline.
Very late in life, Roy married his one and only true love, Barbara Johnson.
