He graduated in 1967 from George Washington Carver High School in Ennis,
Texas. Rev. Jones attended Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas.
He was joined in Holy Matrimony on June 6, 1970. That day marked the beginning
of 54 years of marriage to Miss Doris Faye Paul, where in this union four children
were born. They renewed their vows on October 23, 1993.
Pastor Jones was employed by former Elk Corporation, Ennis, Texas, for
approximately 25 years.
He united with the St. Mary Baptist Church, Bardwell, Texas at an early age.
During his membership with St. Mary, he served as a member of the usher board,
male chorus, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, and Pastor’s
Aide Committee. He was ordained as a deacon, in 1975, under the leadership of
Rev. C. L. Brown. He served as co-chairman of the Deacon Board. As a deacon of
St. Mary, he was often sought out to speak at various churches.
Rev. Jones was called into the Gospel Ministry by our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ, in 2007. He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel on March 16, 2008,

remained a faithful member of that auxiliary until his health failed. Although he
