Johnnie Baxter was born on August 2, 1943 to the union of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie Brooks Sr.
Johnnie Baxter received her formal education at Park high School in Kerens, Texas.
Johnnie Baxter accepted Christ at an early age and was united with New Bethel Baptist Church where she served as a usher for 39 years plus.
Johnnie Brooks was united in holy matrimony with John Ellis Baxter and there were three sons, John Earl, Jeffrey, and Tyrone.
She was employed by Corsicana Holiday Inn and Kerens School District as a Custodian for many years.
In her leisure time she enjoyed gathering pecans. She was a faithful usher for 39 years plus, a great part of the cafeteria staff. A faithful member of the New Bethel Baptist Church.
Johnnie L Baxter departed this life on December 5, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ellis Baxter; mother, Ruby F. Brooks; father, Jessie Brooks Sr.; brother, Jessie James Brooks; stepbrothers, O.C. Brooks, Sammy Brooks, Alvin Brooks, Jessie Brooks Jr; stepsisters, Annil Davis, Carrie Brooks and Eloise Burton.
She leaves to cherish her memory: sister, Annette Brooks; stepchildren, John Baxter, Jeffrey Baxter (Pam), Tyrone Bailey (Inetta), nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of relatives and friends.
