Jenny Lorraine Elder
September 27, 1973 – August 6, 2025
Jenny Lorraine Elder, 51, of Ennis, Texas, passed away on August 6, 2025. Born on September 27, 1973, in Ennis, Jenny was the third of four siblings and grew up surrounded by the love and noise of a big family. She is survived by her children — Raven and her husband RJ Nelson, Megan Elder, and Tristan Elder — and by her siblings: Jamey and Michelle Williams, Cassie and Devin Johnstone, and Elizabeth and Lawrence Ortega. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Billy Elder, and her parents, Jimmy and Iris Williams.
Jenny graduated from Ennis High School and remained deeply connected to her hometown throughout her life. She loved to sing and found joy in the simple, meaningful moments — especially when those moments involved time with family. Her heart was generous, her laugh was contagious, and she never met a stranger. She loved Jesus with her whole heart, and her faith was at the center of everything she did. One of her favorite scriptures was Psalm 23, a passage that brought her comfort and strength throughout her life.
Jenny was a faithful member of Bright & Morning Star Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir and created welcome videos for the women’s conference — small acts of service that left a lasting impact on the lives around her. Throughout her life, one of her greatest hopes was to receive a kidney transplant — a hope that was fulfilled. She was absolutely thrilled just to be able to do something as simple as “pee again” and she celebrated it with the joy that only she could bring to such a moment. Jenny leaves behind a legacy of kindness, conversation, faith, and love. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
