James Steptoe

James Earl Steptoe Sr was born September 11, 1937 in Ennis, Texas to the late Mrs. Sallie Lee and Mr. Willie Frank Lee.    He attended school at Dorie Miller in Ennis, Texas.

He enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharge.

He attended Bethlehem Baptist Church at an early age and later joined Rock Bible under the pastorage of the late Everette Gilmore. 

Later married Rosie Lee Steptoe and she preceded him in death. 

He was preceded death by his mother, Sallie Lee; father, Willie Frank Lee; great grandson, Karson Clem Collins.

He leaves to cherish his memories: 5 children, Darrell Fielder Sr., Susanne Spencer (Lee), Jackie Wallace (Anthony), James Steptoe (Rhonda), Barbara Steptoe; stepdaughters, Gwen Smith, Sharon Smith, Tameka, Tricia Elmore; one sister, Faye Nance; 24 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; a dedicated granddaughter Shaniqua Fields; caregiver, Aretha Hamilton, a special loving daughter in law, Millie Brandon; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend, Joe Murhead.
