Genevia Evans

Genevia Gross Evans (Neve) aka Dear was born to the happy union of Mr. Willie D. Gross and Geneva Alford Gross aka “Maw Maw”.

Genevia accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Second Mission Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Paul Curry and continued there under the leadership of Pastor Redic. 

Genevia was employed by Hagar Slacks as a seamstress for 15 years, until they moved out of Corsicana.  Later she went into the medical field as a Health Care Provider until her retirement. 

She enjoyed sewing, baking tea cakes, fellowshipping with family, and listening to her favorite song “I am a living testimony.”

Genevia was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Gross, Geneva Alford Gross; husband, Frank Evans Jr; brother, Willie Gross, James Gross, Robert Gross, Vester Gross, Ollie D. Gross; sisters, Savanah Gross, Lena Avon Gross, Willie Mae Curry, Ethel Jean Evans; sons, Raymond White, Samuel White, Nathaniel White; great grandson, Destin Nathaniel Williams.

The gift of love is a cherished treasure that cannot be diminished by separation of the soul such treasures will always remain precious in this hearts and minds of Dear’s children: Ralph White Jr, Valorie White Garcia, David White from Waco, Darrin White; her 23 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild; special friends Marie Brown, and Osa Mae Brown; a host of other relatives, friends, and church family.
