Mrs. Evelyn Faye Garrett was born on September 5, 1947, to Willie Mae and Issac Price in Corsicana, Texas. She received her formal education at GW Jackson High School in Corsicana, Texas. She then furthered her education at El Centro Community College in Dallas, Texas. Evelyn accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and was united with Taylor Memorial Church of God in Christ. Later Evelyn joined Vineyard Worship where she served as the mother of the church until she was called home. On January 16, 1982, she married James Edward Garrett, Jr., her husband whom she is survived by. Evelyn then gained one daughter, Lashon and Jeramie “JJ”, whom she preceded in death. Evelyn was a devoted employee at the Dallas Police Department for 33 years and seven months before she retired. Evelyn loved her family and friends. She would give anyone her last. She loved to travel, shop, cook, and most of all, bake. Evelyn was very fashionable and loved music. Evelyn was preceded in death by her mother and father, Willie Mae and Issac Price, brother, Ervin, and sister, Earlene. Evelyn’s memories will be cherished by her beloved son, Donald Ray Jackson, Jr. (Adrienne); brother, Roz Byron “By” Price; grandchildren, Damarcus, LaCausha (James), Crystal, Bria, Dontaneisha, and Ebony; and great-grandchildren, Jaylin, Joshua, Caiden, Ja’Cari, Tre’Viounce, Ke’Ivyunn, Lynn, Di’Moni, and MaLaya. She also leaves to cherish: a host of other relatives, special friends, neighbors, and godchildren.
