Deacon David Barnes Sr. was born on July 12, 1937 to the union of David and Gladys Barnes in Fairfield, Texas.
David Barnes Sr. received his formal education at Dunbar High School in Ferris, Texas.
Deacon David Barnes Sr. accepted Christ in his early age and was united with Greater Mr. Rose PBC where he served as a Deacon and Usher.
David Barnes was united in holy matrimony with Dorothy L. Barnes on June 5, 1967 in Waxahachie, Texas. Their union was blessed with nine children.
He was employed by Martin and Martin, ATS as a Superintendent for 30 years at Martin & Martin and 24 years at ATS.
In his leisure, enjoyed spending time with family. He was affiliated with Masonic Lodge.
David Barnes Sr. departed this life on December 15, 2020. He was preceded in death by: sons, Bryan Griggs, David Barnes Jr; mother, Gladys Barnes; father, David Barnes; sister, Sallie Young; brother, Willie Earl Barnes; granddaughter, Sharae.
He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Dorothy Barnes; four sons, Melvin (Connie), Marvin, Graylin, and Timmye; four daughters, Cheryl (Mario), Carmen (Bruce), Sandra (John), Marsha and Jonell; three sisters, Edna, Bobbie, and Minnie; brother-in-laws, Doyle Jackson (Jewe), James, Herman, and Freddie, sister-in-laws, Lurlene Jackson, Vivian and Garland Jean; twenty-seven grandchildren, fifty great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, and family and friends.
