Charles Henderson Joiner was a beloved son, uncle, and friend. He was a joy to all that he met. Charles was born on December 12, 1930 in Rice, Texas to Mollie H. and Charles Joiner Sr.
On Sunday, December 27, 2020, God called him to rest in his arms. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him dearly.
Charles was baptized and accepted Christ into his life at an early age. His adult life as a member with Greater New Zion Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas for over 20 years as a faithful Sunday School member, male chorus and deacon. In his later years he joined the New Bethel Baptist Church in Kerens, Texas.
He enjoyed cooking and had a love for roses.
Charles H. Joiner received his formal education in Ennis, Texas and graduated from G. W. Carter H.S. He furthered his education at Prairie View A & M University in Prairie View, Texas where he earned bachelor/master’s degree in education and psychology.
Charles H. Joiner enlisted into the United States Army on September 11, 1952. He was honorably discharged on January 16, 1954 from 93rd Engineering Company APO46. As a Korean War Veteran, he earned several medals; National Defense Service medal, Army Combat unite medal and Army outstanding Unit (German) medal.
He was employed by Rice ISD and Dawson ISD (9 years), then became employed for the U.S. Govt. as County FHA Supervisor for 32 years.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mollie Joiner Sr., and sister, Queen Ester Watkins.
Those left to cherish his memory are two nieces, Constance Coleman of Dallas, TX, Mary Vassell of Ennis, TX; nephew, Joseph L. Coleman of Ennis, TX; special cousins, LaVeda Bailey, Dallas, Tx, Lula Ray Davis and Helen Ruth Raindle of Chatfield Tx, and "Cotton" ; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
