Charles Darryl Edwards, age 62, passed away peacefully at his home in Ennis, Texas. Born on
November 19, 1962, in Ennis to Charles Douglas Edwards and Mozell Edwards, Charles was the
eldest of seven children and a beloved son, brother, father, uncle, nephew and friend.
A proud graduate of Ennis High School, Class of 1981, Charles made his mark as a member of
the Ennis Lions football team. His talent on the field earned him a football scholarship to
McMurry University, where he continued to pursue both his education and his love for the game.
Throughout his life, Charles worked for several companies, ultimately retiring from J-Tech.
Known for his quiet strength and deep sense of family, Charles was a man who enjoyed the
simple things in life—playing dominoes, teaming up for a game of Spades, and cheering on his
favorite NFL team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Charles was preceded in death by his father, Charles Douglas Edwards, and by his beloved son,
Keyidran Jackson who tragically passed away just hours before him on the same day.
He leaves behind his loving mother, Mozell Edwards, and his six siblings: Reginald, Cynthia
(Willie), Francine (Ezell), Wayne (Keisha), Kimberly (Sam), and Rodney (Lawanda). He was a
devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved dearly. Charles was also deeply
loved by his aunts, uncles, and many cousins and friends, who will forever cherish the memories
and moments they shared with him.
A homegoing celebration will be held in his honor, with his youngest brother, Pastor Rodney
Edwards, delivering the eulogy. Charles will be laid to rest at Carver Cemetery in Ferris, TX,
where he will be remembered with love, laughter, and legacy.
Though he may no longer walk beside us, Charles Darryl Edwards will forever live in the hearts
of those who knew and loved him.
